Anyone any idea where safc fans are planning on going Saturday night? I presumed it would be Covent garden but I've heard a few people saying trafalgar square. And is anyone going to be around Saturday night?? Are you coming over from Greece for the game, Steve?

www.safc.com/news/team-news/2019/march/cattermole-previews-wembley-showdown'Sunday's final is for the fans'Lee Cattermole believes Sunday’s cup final is all about giving something back to fans who’ve stuck with the club through thick and thin. Sunderland travel to Wembley this weekend for their Checkatrade Trophy showdown against promotion rivals Portsmouth. With Sky Bet League One duties on hold this weekend, the midfielder, who has helped put the Black Cats in with a shout of an immediate return to the Championship with nine games left, has highlighted the significance of repaying the faith shown by the red and white army. “What we are getting on Sunday is the reward for what we’ve done this season,” he said. “Starting with the new manager and change of ownership. We worked really hard through pre-season and this is just the rewards from it. “For us as a club and having been here as long as I have, it’s a rebuilding process. “We’ve built a good relationship once again with the fans. We’re unbeaten in the league at home, we’ve had massive attendances all season and there’s a really good feeling about the place. “We want to keep building that relationship and a win on Sunday could be the icing on the cake. “It’s about doing it for the supporters and the football club. It is a big game on Sunday for both sides. “Two big football teams are going up against each other and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.”

www.safc.com/news/team-news/2019/march/ross-on-wembley-showdown'Everyone is desperate to be involved' - Jack RossJack Ross is revelling in the hype around Sunday’s Checkatrade Trophy Final. With just a matter of days to go now ‘til the Wembley showdown against Portsmouth, Sunderland’s preparations are nearing their climax. Having enjoyed an enforced break from their Sky Bet League One campaign last weekend due to international call-ups, Ross has revealed everyone has returned from a few days off refreshed and galvanised ahead of the final month of the season. But before the Lads can resume their domestic campaign, the Black Cats are tasked with taking on Pompey in the Checkatrade Trophy Final this weekend at the national stadium. Speaking at Wednesday’s press conference, Ross has admitted he’s enjoying the build-up to Sunday’s showcase game with the standard high in training as the players battle for a starting place. “We’ve already created a culture here so that the level they train at is really good,” he said. “What they do on the training pitch every day is a high level of intensity and really good. “But there has been that extra bit of quality this week and you can see players are desperate to be involved. “The good thing for me is that all season the players have been eager to play every game. While those who do miss out will be disappointed not to play, I would argue they’d be just as disappointed to miss out on Wednesday at Accrington. There’s a lot of players want to be in the team because this is a good club to play for when things are going well. “I’ve really enjoyed training this week, it’s been good. The break was good but also the reality is that this could be the last week we get to do this, because looking at the schedule ahead, we’re not going to get much chance to train the rest of this season, so it’s been beneficial in that sense.”
