No coach worth his salt will want to come to SAFC and I wouldn't blame them. I wouldn't mind the ex Norwich manager, think they were a bit hasty in getting shot of him. i wouldn’t mind Rooney, he did an ok job down here with Derby County, but he is off to Plymouth Argyle by all accounts.

Full Article Sunderland’s snail pace has cost them in the manager raceSunderland couldn’t really do much to tempt Danny Rohl if he never really had any intention of leaving Sheffield Wednesday. However, that isn’t the reason why the club is now coming under criticism. The board are now being ridiculed because they have had over three months to identify their target, hold talks with him and appoint him. The season has now been over for three weeks and in that time, Hull, Plymouth and Norwich have lost their managers, while the likes of Burnley, Ipswich, Leicester could all soon be searching for their own head coach too. Sunderland had a window of opportunity where they could snap up their main target as soon as the season ended, but they have dragged it on and now it feels like they will be very far behind when it comes to winning the race for a manager. It’s another disaster-class again for the club, who really only had one chance left after the Michael Beale fiasco.

As mentioned fecking ages ago (was it really as long ago as 21st April !), Will Still (and 3 others - his brother as assistant, a fitness coach, and a first team coach) have (unofficially, but definitely) been confirmed 👍
This is 'a new direction' and a risk (as all managerial appointments are) . . . . let's support them instead of 'pulling them to pieces' before they even start, eh 😉

I said 'unofficially' Les, so it's not going to be on safc.com

I said 'unofficially' Les, so it's not going to be on safc.com If they have been “confirmed”, then why aren’t safc announcing it - doesn’t make sense to me? Unless Still has a clause in his last Rheims contract that needs to be addressed?

Really makes me titter with the comments on Will Still having been "successful" at Riems because he finished 11th in two seasons running, bearing in mind that there are only 17 teams in the league.
You could say he finished in the bottom half of the league two seasons running
OR
He finished 6th from bottom 😳
Doesn't sound so "successful" now 😏
This morning we have been given a 'boost' in signing him as Norwich are looking elsewhere for a new manager, not because Still wants to come, because Norwich were not interested or impressed with him. Some boost.

I can’t believe how long this has dragged out now - nothing short of incompetence in my opinion.
It is now 3 months since Michael Beale was sacked for goodness sake.

Even the soccer pundits think we are a joke. I just think that not many coaches are interested or coming forward for the job.
