Matthews is a poor enough right back, let alone playing him on the left.

O'Nien has done well filling in, but that's all he is. As soon as he came up against a half decent opponent his weaknesses were brutally exposed. With Honeyman & Watmore out and Gooch being absolute pants, it's a no-brainer to move O'Nein forward, bite the bullet & move Matthews to right back, hoping that O'Nien can help cover.
