safcBlackburn Rovers come to the SoLSunderland look to make it back-to-back wins over the Easter Weekend as they welcome Blackburn Rovers to the Stadium of Light. Here is all you need to know ahead of the game… Opposition Blackburn Rovers currently sit 19th in the Sky Bet Championship table following their 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Good Friday. They will be looking for their first win in ten games having not tasted victory since the 3-1 win over Stoke City on February 10. Only Rotherham United have conceded more goals in the league this season with 65 goals being scored against them. In last season’s head-to-head, the Lads secured a 2-1 win on Boxing Day 2022 with Ellis Simms scoring a stoppage-time winner at the Stadium of Light. Team News Corry Evans remains in contention to feature against his old side having recently played minutes for the Under-21s after a 15 month lay-off through a long-term knee injury. Aji Alese and Patrick Roberts will be looking for their first appearances for over a month having made the matchday squad for the Good Friday victory over Cardiff City. Jack Clarke continues to work his way towards full fitness as he recovers from an ankle problem picked up in the defeat to Birmingham City last month. Elliot Embleton and Dennis Cirkin are both out of contention whilst Jenson Seelt and Niall Huggins are both undergoing their rehabilitation programmes for their respective long-term injuries.

Nice to see Clarke on the bench - presumably being introduced back gradually.

It is April 1st today and that performance was definitely a joke. It was a disgrace, every player should hold their heads in shame. Roberts was clearly not ready, Jobe was having a nightmare so was Neil and Ekwah. He should have made changes at half time, never mind waiting for this magical 65 minutes. I walked out at 0-4, couldn't watch any more. I certainly will not be back this season nor next. Our club is an embarrassment 😳 The owner, Speakman and the players should be made to watch that shambolic performance time and time again.
