Will Still was offered the job last week, so the ball's in his court, and everything else is irrelevant until he decides one way of another I had heard he was at the Chelsea game last weekend. đ Maybe Will's still the favourite x.com/phil__smith/status/1785992110790856860?s=46Following a meeting held this morning between President Jean-Pierre Caillot, General Manager Mathieu Lacour and head coach Will Still, it was mutually agreed that the two parties would not continue the sporting adventure together. next season. In view of this decision and in order to allow Stade de Reims to confidently look forward to the next financial year, it was also decided that Will Still and his deputy Nicolas Still would step down from their respective functions as of today. Jean-Pierre Caillot, President of Stade de Reims: âStade de Reims would like to thank Will and Nicolas Still for their investment and all these beautiful emotions experienced together. At the heart of a unique Club project, known and recognized for its ability to reveal all talents, we are proud to have been able to contribute to the emergence of a coach who knew how to impose his convictions and his playing identity. Will was one of the actors in the new cycle initiated in 2018, and has undoubtedly enabled the SDR to take another step forward, particularly in the context of the internationalization of the locker room. Will, Nico, the big Red and White family thanks you and wishes you the best for the rest of your careers. » Will Still: âI thank Stade de Reims, President Caillot and Mathieu Lacour for giving me this unique opportunity and for supporting me throughout my journey here. I will be eternally grateful to Stade de Reims as well as everyone involved directly or indirectly with the club. I would like to thank in particular all the players with whom I was able to work, all the technical, performance, analytical, medical staff as well as the stewards, but also and above all all the supporters of this wonderful club. Our 19-match unbeaten streak last season as well as the spectacular matches at Delaune will remain unique moments for me. Delaune and Champagne will always have a special place in my life and I will remain the number one supporter of the Rouge et Blanc.

EchoInteresting development in Sunderland head coach search as Will Still leaves current roleA key name in Sunderlandâs search for a new head coach over the past year has left his current role Phil Smith Sunderlandâs search for a new head coach potentially took a significant twist on Thursday after it was announced that Will Still was leaving his role as head coach of Stade de Reims. The Ligue 1 side announced that Still would be leaving his role in a statement, effective immediately. It is not known whether Still is a contender for Sunderlandâs vacancy but he was a prominent figure in the search to replace Tony Mowbray last December. No move progress, partly due to the significant compensation figure that would have been owed to the French club. Still has previously made clear his desire to return to the UK and said in a statement today: âI thank Stade de Reims, President Caillot and Mathieu Lacour for giving me this unique opportunity and for supporting me throughout my journey here. I will be eternally grateful to Stade de Reims as well as everyone involved directly or indirectly with the club. I would like to thank in particular all the players with whom I was able to work, all the technical, performance, analytical, medical staff as well as the stewards, but also and above all all the supporters of this wonderful club. linkSunderland need to be cautious of one thing if they hire Will StillStill certainly seems to tick a lot of boxes for Sunderland and Louis-Dreyfus. Heâs young and innovative, and he certainly proved himself in spells with Reims, though his formerâs side recent results were poor. But the main concern that Sunderland may have with Still is his temperament.During his initial links to Sunderland, Still failed to play down the rumours, then causing upset with clear comments he made about wanting to move to England; effectively about wanting to leave Reims. So itâs no wonder why his sideâs form fell apart after that and it may say a lot about Still; if he arrives at Sunderland, does well and then has links to the Premier League, Louis-Dreyfus and co may be fearful of Still acting the same as he did at Reims. Though his Reims spell will have given the young coach a lot of experience and heâll surely learn from it, and plan for the long-term if he arrives on Wearside this summer. Sunderland return to action against Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship this weekend.

The question is, is he the man for us, never managed in the UK, certainly never managed in the championship which ain't an easy league. Has not proven himself as a coach in Britain.
He's quoted as getting Riems to 11th place finish for the last two seasons ad though this is a great achievement, FFS there is only 18 teams in the league you could say 7th from bottom two seasons running.

Rohl has ruled himself out of the Sunderland manager role, wonder why
Is it because he's at a club on the up and not on the decline, and just outplayed and totally dominated against the club wanting him
Or He's got an owner who will back him in the transfer market
Or He will be able to bring in the players 'he' wants.
Or He can groom and bring on his young players and 'keep' them to build a team.

linkWill Still breaks social media silence with cryptic message Still took to Instagram on Sunday evening, posting for the first time since mid-April. He posted a message of thanks to Reims but ended it with a potentially cryptic hint that heâs set to return to the dugout very soon. Still wrote: â3 years of emotions, sharing, learning, winning, development, opportunities and fun. 19 games forever recorded in history and now the end of a very beautiful adventure. Thanks to the Stade de Reims, thanks to the players, thanks to the staff, but especially thanks to the supporters of the Red and White. See you very soon.â One man may beat Will Still to Sunderland job this summerStill has been a long-term target for Sunderland, and his Reims exit is certainly well-timed with the Championship season now over. Hiring him would also be a cheap gamble for Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus who wouldâve had to pay more than ÂŁ4million in compensation previously. But there seems to be one name growing in Sunderland headlines and in popularity among fans on social media; Rene Maric. The Bayern Munich U19 coach is making a name for himself in the dugout having previously worked with the likes of Leeds United. Sunderland fans appear to be quickly warming to the idea of Maric arriving at Sunderland this summer after he was recently linked with a move to the Stadium of Light.

linkAn emerging report from Sunderland Echo has detailed the latest on Maric and where he stands in the race to become the next Sunderland manager. Phil Smith writes that Maric âhas previously been a strong contenderâ for the job and that heâs âhighly-thought ofâ, but he has not âemerged as a significant contender this time aroundâ. MORE SUNDERLAND STORIES So it seems like Maric is someone whoâs been on Sunderlandâs radar for some time, likely when the club sacked Tony Mowbray at the end of 2023. But this time round, there seems to be other names, such as Still, who are more preferred by the Sunderland board. Rene Maric update means one thing at Sunderland If it wasnât obvious already, then this latest Maric update surely clarifies that Still seems like the clear front-runner for the Sunderland job right now. His Reims exit is perfect timing and somewhat coincidental, given whatâs been about six months of links between Still and Sunderland, and with the compensation fee previously being a huge sticking point for Sunderland.

echoEx-Denmark international emerges as 'shock candidate'James Copley There has been a new name linked with the vacant Sunderland head coach position Bo Svensson has emerged as a âshockâ candidate for the vacant Sunderland head coach role, according to reports. The 44-year-old former Danish international player is available after leaving German side Mainz and has been shortlisted by the Black Cats as they look for a new boss. Thatâs according to a report by The Sun, which also states that Sunderland considered Paul Heckingbottom after his work with Sheffield United. The former Sunderland player managed to get The Blades promoted from the Championship a couple of seasons ago but was sacked by the Steel City club after disappointing results in the Premier League. The Blades have since been relegated from the top flight and will return to the second tier next campaign. The Sun states that Svensson could âappeal more and could be tempted to go to the Championshipâ if Sunderland can âmatch his ambitions.â The report also adds that the Black Cats are still looking at former Reims coach Will Still after his recent departure from the Ligue 1 club. Alan Nixon has also claimed that Sunderland have âhad to spread their net and are now prepared to let new coaches come in with their own staff rather than work with the existing teamâ. Mike Dodds, who took the interim head coach role after Michael Beale was sacked, is expected to resume his coaching duties alongside Michael Proctor next season. Beale didnât bring any coaching staff with him to the Academy of Light when he joined the club and lasted just 12 games in charge.

Am I the only one starting to get pi55ed aff with the managerial saga.
The owners have known for months that we need a new coach, yet here we are, season over, lads will not be long back for pre-season friendlies and still we are no more the wiser who is coming in, the new coach will want to see the dross left to him and start to fathom out what the feck he can do with the rabble he's got đ
Yet again, for me the club are dragging their heels or maybe the coaches they want are knocking them back one by one đ€ and who can blame them.
It wasn't that long ago they had a short list of 3 đ
