not a sending off for me - I didn't think it was a foul, there didn't appear to be contact on the replay

www.safc.com/news/team-news/2019/may/ozturk-red-card-to-be-appealledTHE PLAY-OFFS: SAFC to appeal Ozturk's red card12 May, 2019 @samlightle Jack Ross has confirmed Sunderland will appeal Alim Ozturk's red card. The central defender was dismissed for bringing down Portsmouth skipper Gareth Evans midway through the second 45 of the Black Cats’ 1-0 first-leg Play-Off semi-final win at the Stadium of Light. As it stands the resulting one-match ban would rule the 26-year-old out of Thursday’s return leg at Fratton Park. However, speaking to safc.com post-match the Sunderland manager revealed the cub will lodge an appeal. “I’ve watched it again and to be honest it was the same as my initial reaction,” he said. “I couldn’t tell if it was a foul or not, but I did think the touch was taking him away from goal – nowhere near the goal – so I would then dispute whether it was an obvious goalscoring opportunity. “Having watched it again I would still come at it with that opinion so on the that basis we will appeal the decision because we don’t think it is justified. “We will have to see if that appeal is successful or not.”

Certainly not, pictures show he took the ball and it was in fact a superb tackle.

Now, hopefully and rightly, the **** who sent him off will be shot Just as well Portsmouth didn't score after the sending off. But we might have if he hadn't been.
