Who would you prefer to get second place if we miss out.
I would not like to face Pompey in the playoffs, think they are our bogey team this season, so it's them .

I'm with you Mac. Although I would dearly love to beat them in the final. It would make the other games redundant.

so if we don't beat Portsmouth we are defo in playoffs, if Barnsley draw or lose and we beat Portsmouth then its back in our hands, its a crazy league.
It looks like the playoffs but this is Sunderland and we all know we never take the easy route.

I have resigned myself to the playoffs.
We are now relying on teams to drop a bollocks and looking at them and us I where my money lies.
All those draws this season have cost us big time and Ross bragging about being unbeaten at the time now just shows how he had his head in the sands. Going into games frightened of loosing are not the actions of a good manager.

Said after the loss to Pompey in the Mickey Mouse that the best we would manage was the play-offs, and after yet another pretty poor performance yesterday, I'm not even confident that we'll finish top 4. That being the case, does anyone really expect us to beat either Pompey or Charlton over two legs, never mind winning the final itself.

I wonder if there is a clause in Ross' contract regarding promotion being essential.

Looking like Charlton in the semi final me thinks, can't see us finishing 3rd and Donny won't get to 5th, Charlton are the best side I've seen us play this season, would like to think we could take them over two games
