Fire Up Our City
Sunderland AFC have just three Sky Bet League One games remaining at the Stadium of Light – and with the 2018-19 season reaching its climax, we need you to #FireUpOurCity one last time!
From Kenilworth Road to Trafalgar Square, the red and white army have clocked up thousands of miles and travelled in astonishing numbers, while breaking records along the way.
But this season has been about so much more, with an unbreakable bond forged from day one, as supporters, players and staff came together to restore the Stadium of Light to its former glory.
Our proud home subsequently became a fortress, and Jack Ross’ side unbeaten on Wearside in League One during the current campaign.
With three seismic home games remaining, and everything still to play for, supporters are being urged to return to the Stadium of Light this April to #FireUpOurCity, starting with Saturday’s showdown against Play-Off chasing Coventry City.
Charlie Methven, the club’s executive director, said: “As a club, we refused to underestimate League One from the moment we arrived, and we cannot afford to waver now, with three season-defining home fixtures to play.
“Coventry, Doncaster and Portsmouth will all travel to the Stadium of Light seeking to end our unbeaten record, but they will also arrive on Wearside looking to boost their own promotion credentials.
“Throughout the campaign, we have shown grit, determination and character on and off the pitch, while building a togetherness that has paved the way for a promotion challenge.
“Whether you live locally or in London, in Durham or overseas, your support is going to be absolutely vital between now and the end of the season, and no matter how small, we all have a part to play.
“So, come home this April, and fire up our city one last time.”
Tickets are now on sale for the club’s three remaining fixtures at the Stadium of Light are on sale now.
