I went to the game, conditions had a massive part to play for both sides, the wind was bending the corner flags down, we played against the wind and Barnsley just about the better of the 2 teams, they hit the crossbar 1st half but we stood up to them well. 2nd half wind for us, we came out getting tight on them and battling and looked like they had a rocket up the ass at half time, we were the better team 2nd half, however our keeper kept kicking it downfield and just went straight to the other keeper and again we played high balls and looked rubbish but when played on the ground we looked very good some good interchanging passing. We never got any proper service to Grigg who looks a very good player but needs better service and I would have liked Sterling on a lot earlier. Also when Grigg was through the Barnsley Defender was pulling him back so much when he got his shot off he was more or less horizontal and the keeper saved with his leg, then ref give a goal kick, I went mental some decisions like that, ref was poor but not as bad as some as we had. Did your nipper enjoy it?

He did Sisy, He was singing and stood on his seat the whole time and saying the Ref is blind, horrendous etc, blaming the ref basically. Cold though wind and rain in the face as we left the ground, but standard Tuesday night weather. Character building is what I told him

Been like that all season Les, Power and Dunne should have scored. There's something lacking with all the players and I can't put my finger on it, they don't look like they're up for it, but they must be. I disagree to a certain extent Mac. The lack of efforts on target has been like that since Barnsley at home. Watching us almost throw away a 3-0 lead, it seems to me that Ross decided he couldn't trust his back four. Since that point we've played two holding midfield players in almost every match, meaning that, without a proper link man, whoever plays up top has been isolated. In addition to that, as we don't have any genuine creativity in the middle of the park, it basically means we aren't able to create many clear cut chances. As to whether or not the players are up for it, well I think Saturday showed they were, however I'm not so sure they can handle the pressure. It's great the players show some fight on the sidelines when on of our players takes a bad tackle Sis, it's the fight on the pitch that worries me, I just don't see any.
