The lads are playing well though Hume getting another unnecessary early yellow card is not very helpful.

Good result. Decent performance, despite neither team taking full control.

Good result. Decent performance, despite neither team taking full control. It got a bit nail biting towards the end when Boro finally decided to have a go.

We always seemed to be in control there, with 'Boro creating almost nothing, and the 3 points were thoroughly deserved. Reggie played it brilliantly đ

safcMepham on debut clean sheetChris Mepham reflected on his debut and Sunderlandâs win over Middlesbrough. The centre-back produced an eye-catching display to keep Boro out, as Chris Riggâs strike ensured victory in the Wear-Tees clash. Speaking to safc.com, Mepham described the supporters as the âtwelfth playerâ as they roared the Lads over the line. âWeâre delighted with the result â I thought the performance was good even though we didnât have lots of the ball,â he said. âTheyâre a comfortable side on the ball, but I donât remember too many chances they created. âIt shows that when youâre compact without the ball, you can hurt teams the other way. âOne-nil as a defender is always the nicest score-line.â He continued: âItâs a long season and thereâs going to be plenty of ups and downs, but it was a great reaction to last week. âWhen we were hanging on to the lead, the supporters became the twelfth man.â

Great win and three points.
Wasn't a great game to be honest, actually found it boring in parts of the second half.
My mates son showed me the stats of the second half, neither keeper had to make one save.
