He will be invaluable again this season especially if we fail to sign a striker, for whatever reason this window.

That completely depends on possible replacement(s), but he's invaluable, isn't he ๐

Problem is, money talks, if any club puts in a decent offer they will sell, not matter a hoot to the detriment of the club or our season or if Clarke wishes to stay or if its to one of competitors in the league.
In my humble opinion, he won't be at our club at the end if the transfer window.
He put himself further in the shop window yesterday.

If he goes it will be to a Premier League team . . . . there's no way that he would go to another Championship team even if they offered him more money 'cos 'he knows where his bread's buttered' ๐

Disagree lads
Wouldn't be a pointless move going to the likes of Burnley, Sheffield United or even Luton, who all have a far better chance than us of going up
And he will know that as well, he will see that we are dragging our heals on getting a couple of strikers in, he will also see that we are a cheap skate club ๐ Plus those teams have owners willing to put their money into the squad to succeed.
Plus he will get pissed off having the pressure on him playing well and scoring in every game.

One thing we know from experience is that regardless of how your club look on paper there are no guarantees on promotion from this league.

Most importantly I think (hope) that he likes being 'a big fish in a small pond' ๐

I can see why Leeds want Clarke, they have played 2 games and won none so far - but why would Clarke want to sign for a struggling club in the same league. Stay where you are Clarkey boy . . . you know it makes sense.

As expected Clarke's gone to Ipswich for up to ยฃ20m plus a sell on fee.
If he excels, and is sold, we have a few million more.
If he doesn't that's Ipswich's problem.
Good luck Jack, it's been a pleasure.
This is my favourite, I'd driven there on my birthday, what a present.

No official announcement has been made yet by the club but itโs looking more and more likely.

No he's definitely away Les. The bidding war, some expected, never materialised and Clarke wanted to be in the PL. Having failed, in the PL previously, it seems clubs were reluctant to take a chance on him. We think he's invaluable, of course, but we're a bit biased
