Wonder how this debacle is effecting season ticket sales, badly I would think.
Last year SAFC were stating and bragging on the ticket sales, this year nothing said.

Dodds is a candidate apparently . . . It would go down like a lead balloon with supporters if he got the job on a permanent basis.

Sunderland AFC: Fresh managerial twist emerges involving Kristjaan Speakman
So it seems that the candidates hold reservations about working with our DoF
Shocker 😲😱🙄

Full Article Liam Rosenior is set for talks with Championship rivalsHowever, their pursuit of Rosenior may not be as straight forward as hoped, with another club keeping an eye on him. According to The Athletic, Burnley see Rosenior as a candidate to take over from Vincent Kompany. The former defender is joined by Frank Lampard and Scott Parker on their radar, with preliminary interviews due to begin this week. Are Sunderland about to miss out on another target? It’s unclear how far Sunderland are in their pursuit of Rosenior, but if they let him slip by – just like a number of managers already – then he could quite easily jump at the chance of moving to Turf Moor. He narrowly missed out on the play-offs with Hull, but joining the Clarets could guarantee him a huge chance at winning automatic promotion and managing in the Premier League. The Black Cats will likely struggle to compete with Burnley and really need to get a deal wrapped up quickly if they aren’t to miss out on yet another target. However, Rosenior still isn’t guaranteed to be Burnley’s first choice. Both Lampard and Parker already have experience in the top flight, while the latter has won promotion twice in the last four years. The former Tigers manager has made it clear he is happy to wait for the right offer to come around, having attracted interest since leaving the MKM Stadium. If he still has options elsewhere, then he won’t be afraid to make Sunderland wait for his decision.

Exactly Ray, Burnley will have a parachute payment if nothing else so money to spend on players and not having to work for a DoF and owner who do everything they can to make the job more difficult.

Full ReportKristjaan Speakman under the spotlight at SunderlandNeedless to say, Louis-Dreyfus is coming under pressure to hire a manager. But sporting director Kristjaan Speakman is under scrutiny for his role in the fiasco. Not only has Speakman, in the eyes of many, failed Sunderland in the last few transfer windows, but he’s now failing the club in their search for a new manager. There’s growing angst among Sunderland supporters and Speakman appears to be taking the brunt of the criticism. Can Kristjaan Speakman salvage his Sunderland reputationIt’s certainly a very difficult time for Sunderland, and without doubt the most difficult period since Louis-Dreyfus took over. Having a manager in place come the end of the season would’ve allowed Sunderland to press on with matters in the transfer window; of which there are many. But this emerging trend of being linked with a manager, only for the manager to then head elsewhere or pull out of contention, casts a very worrying shadow over the Sunderland job. It suggests that the job may not be as attractive as it seems on the surface. It also creates an air of uncertainty, and a sense that Speakman and Louis-Dreyfus are desperately lacking any kind of direction. Still was the no.1 target to come in this summer and missing out on him meant that Rosenior, who was in a job for the entirety of last season, was a plan B. Now missing out him, and whoever else the club may have missed out on behind the scenes, means that Sunderland are going further and further down their list of potential manager candidates. Like Graham says, whether or not the next Sunderland manager performs well doesn’t really impact upon Speakman’s current reputation among supporters. Whoever comes in now may be a name out of the blue, maybe even a panic appointment; if he does well, it’s luck, if he doesn’t, it’s the fault of Speakman and Louis-Dreyfus.There certainly seems to be no way back for Speakman after this managerial fiasco.

The owners have to take a lot of the blame, they have let Speakman trudge from one feck up to another.

linkFrank Lampard will surely enter race to become next Sunderland managerFormer England and Chelsea midfielder, and former Derby County, Chelsea, and Everton manager Frank Lampard remains available. The 45-year-old is one of the bookies’ favourites to become the next Sunderland manager, along with the likes of QPR boss Marti Cifuentes who is well-liked by Sunderland. Lampard has been without a job since leaving Everton in January 2023. His best stint as a manager came with Derby County in the Championship, whom he guided to the play-off final in 2019. He left for Chelsea that summer, staying in charge for just six months before taking over at Everton in April 2023, and eventually leaving with just 12 wins in 44 games (27.3% win rate). Lampard is also in the running to become the next Burnley manager along with Rosenior; the latter isn’t thought to be the leading candidate as things stand. Lampard is thought to be keen on returning to management this summer and open to managing a club in the Championship. Would Frank Lampard be a good Sunderland managerLampard has certainly endured a bit of a rollercoaster introduction to management, going from one extreme to another when leaving Derby County for Chelsea. But there’s no denying that he did a good job at Derby County. The Rams arguably defied expectations by reaching the play-off final that season, though Lampard was helped out by having the likes of Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori on loan from Chelsea. That Chelsea connection is something that Sunderland could capitalise on, though, should they hire Lampard as manager. The major issue that Sunderland would face in hiring Lampard, and perhaps many other managers now, is that they’d be an underwhelming appointment. Knowing that Sunderland wanted Still and then Rosenior, before missing out on both, makes clear that whoever the next Sunderland manager is, is a back up plan. We saw with the Michael Beale tenure that if Sunderland fans aren’t immediately on board with the appointment, it makes it extremely difficult for the manager to get those fans on side. Lampard’s most recent showing at Everton and his apparent desperation for a return to management doesn’t speak volumes about his credentials.Given the state of affairs at Sunderland though, and the fact that Lampard is among the bookies’ favourites for the job, we could soon see an inevitable link between the pair.

We are going to end up with a Lampard, De Foe, Robbie Keane, Yorke etc.
Listening on tippy tappy football the other day and SKP said he would love to take on the job with Big Sam, but both said that the owners philosophy would need to change.
