I thought Ross started the match not looking to concede and Wyke up front stranded we were powder puff as especially as they had 2 1st teamers missing as well. Wyke battles and puts a shift in but not a natural scorer, Maguire coming on changed the game and we looked good until numpty ref again a crap decision sent Oz off when it was proved to be a fantastic tackle and then it was just defend defend. We should win the appeal, and Gooch looked a lot better than he has done, I did agree taking Morgan off thought it was not his best night, but Maguire needs to start and we need to attack Portsmouth on Thursday otherwise we will get beat. Ross needs to get this game right and shut up the Portsmouth players taking crap in the papers and then shut up Bowyer and gain revenge. I think we will do it on Thursday just hope we do. Behave yourself Boiler, Ross will certainly not attack them at there place, he won't even attack a bottom of the league team at home, so what chance do you see him doing that.

I hope he starts the game at a high tempo, score and shut the Pompie fans up.

If we sit back we will get beat, we need to be playing to our strengths midfield and attacking, Maguire behind or alongside Wyke will cause them problems and have Morgan and Gooch on the wings again Cattermole in the middle with Power or O'Nien and Mathews at Right Back.
We just need to hope Portsmouth feel the pressure and leave gaps at the back for us to exploit, but meet them head on they will not beat us.

Don't put your hopes on it Les, speaking to my neighbour who always watches Sunderland on his box whenever he can, asked if I watched the game when I was away, I said no, he said I was lucky, Sunderland and the game was really poor, can't see them changing much now

Something in me doesn't want us to go up, that way there might be a slight chance of getting rid of Ross, I honestly don't think he's the best man for us, far, far too negative and no bottle. If we do go up, we'll be stuck with him for at least another boring season

If we do go up, we'll be stuck with him for at least another boring season I'm beginning to think (IF we go up) give him another transfer window (to add to HIS team) this summer, see the caliber of player brought in and watch results until October. If we are struggling let him go if we are doing well then whoop de doo no problems. Another point - seeing who Ross lets go in the summer will be a huge indicator of the man as a manager.

No matter the outcome of this season, without major (and I'm talking oil moneyesque), Ross will be in charge when we kick off next term.
